Saskatchewan to stop releasing daily COVID-19 update

s Saskatchewan says it will soon stop providing daily COVID-19 updates as the virus "moves from pandemic to endemic." That decision means there will no longer be a daily recap issued by the province on how many new cases or deaths were recorded or how many vaccines were administered. Instead, the province will move to a weekly recap as of Aug. 3. Saskatchewan's dashboard of COVID-19 data will still be updated on a daily basis, the province said. The news comes as the number of active COVID-19 cases reached a level not seen since the province dropped all public restrictions on July 11. As of Thursday the number of active cases in the province stood at 412. On July 10, the number of active cases was 413. The increase in active case numbers was caused by 52 new cases reported on Thursday. The new cases are located in the following health zones; Far northwest: nine. Far north central: two. s Quebec public health is reporting zero COVID-19-related deaths over the past four days. The Ministère de la Santé et des Services sociaux has added 54 new cases over the past 24 hours and zero coronavirus-related deaths. Hospitalizations have decreased by three since Monday and now total 85 across the province. Patients in intensive care have remained stable at 25, since the weekend. Over the past day, 86,640 vaccines were administered across the province for a total of 9,555,986 since December 2020. Ottawa sees lowest daily COVID-19 case count in nine month

s Ottawa Public Health says 10 more people in Ottawa have tested positive for COVID-19, the lowest daily case count reported in the capital since Sept. 1, 2020. No new deaths were reported for the third day in a row, Tuesday. Across the province, health officials confirmed 296 new cases of the virus, the lowest daily report since Sept. 17, 2020. Another 645 cases across Ontario are now considered resolved. Public Health Ontario says 15 more Ontarians have died from COVID-19. Public Health Ontario added 11 new cases to its total for Ottawa on Tuesday. Figures from OPH often differ from those provided by Public Health Ontario because the two health agencies pull data for their daily reports at different times of the day.
